How to check out potential Earnings Plays:

A fellow trader emailed me about earnings plays, and I figured I would share the response to this thread.

There is a relatively simple way to check out Earnings plays - Jenna's
or ones you find out are announcing in a month or so. Look at the
daily chart, and if the tick crosses above the midpoint of the Bollinger
Band spread AND the 39 period Stochastic rises above 50% for 15-20 day
prior to the earnings announcement date (and the tick stays there) its
a buy - paper trade this and see if it doesn't work. Actually I check
them online at cbs.marketwatch.com
(this URL may have my chart defaults so you might want to reset) if
they aren't in my database.
