Lisa, Not that I am happy at losing money, but fortunately I did not lose it all and cut my losses in about half on the DJX PUTS. That's the key which I was satified with. In the past, I would have lost it all, now half - still too much. I saw the freight train last week coming and if I had held till today I would have lost it all. If I had got out 1-2 days earlier my loss would have been about 30%. So I look at it as not being totally run over by a freight train. Also with some of those I trade with who trade with I had suggested to them to sell lower strike price puts to minimize their losses if they felt they still wanted to stay in, and some of them did. Plus I only played a small amount during this period, buying only 5 DJX PUTS at a time, since this period was iffy. Yes, as I am starting to learn from JIM and the CHICKEN TRADE, can one pull out before a total loss instead of being totally run over by a freight train. As for my plans to get back into the market I will either wait for a pullback and if none appear I will just sit on the sidelines. However, there are certain indexes which have pulled back and are off their highs and still have upside if the market continues up such as the YTK, EGI, IIX, etc. Also there is the possibility of doing a straddle/strangle which I will scrap for the time being. Also if you refer to my whole message, I started that INDEX UPDATE off by saying that the DOW was a CLASS 1 sell, so I was actually was referring to the point that I dont need a freight train to tell me not to play PUTS on it again since my technical system was being over ridden. I may still play PUTS but it would be picking niches if I do, and not to imply that I think this market wont go up more. Off this topic, I had noticed you had mentioned that you still do not have a sell signal, which is a interesting point. Normally a linear system would not have a sell signal until there is a support area is broken. Something that I have not done before is combine my system with a linear system. Thanks for the idea.
