Yeah, in fact if you just flee from a cop in a car with a passenger and crash killing the passenger you will be charged with murder in states with felony murder statue. Killing a cop is never allowed, most states have killing a cop statue which is aggravated murder. You will most likely be charged and convicted of murder if you just use a gun in self defense against an intruder inside your home. At the very least, you will spend a fortune defending yourself from murder charges. The question will be whether the use of deadly force was justified. You can always call the cops though. You might be dead before they come but won’t spend a lifetime in prison.
