many beat-up oil stocks right now, look very attractive for buy and hold type investor. and with a price spike the "hold period" might not be more the a few months for some truly big runups. IMHO and nothing more.

I'm usually just a lurker here, but I have to chime in on this one. A lot of oil support companies are very beaten down. Check out TDW and TMAR. 25-50% earnings growth trading with P/Es less than 10. How many stocks like that are there on the market!

There has been real fear in this sector and IMO it is over-blown. Cheap oil won't last forever even if OPEC can't get its act together.
