The Smoot Hawley tariff act is why the stock market collapse of 1929 became the Great Depression. The act cut off trade and destroyed the world economy.

Yikes Smoot Hawley was 1930. It accelerated and amplified the Depression which had only just begun in 1929. The Depression world last another 11 years.

He will throw us into another Great Depression .... but it'll be the greatest Great Depression ever, believe me.
