Overall, a healthy educated population supported by a good infrastructure makes a lot of business sense. What is to be avoided is no bid government contracts for cronies. The welfare system for the rich. There isn't really much for Left and Right to argue about, it's just a question of emphasis. Just had my passport renewed. I think it's run by a government department, they did an excellent job. Having the right people doing the job makes a lot of difference, even a government department can be well run. The problem occurs when some people think they know best, and the only way to fix things is have everyone do what they are told to do. That is when things get fukked up. The lockdowns were a global disaster.
