Would all of Europe speak Russian by now?

I just don’t think we would be living in a better world had the US stayed out of global affairs in the last 70 years.

The Cold War wasn't about stopping Russians. It was about stopping Soviet Socialists.

Russia is now a bulwark AGAINST socialism and America is promoting socialism.

NATO is stronger now than ever before thanks to Putin. But the glue that binds NATO together is the United States. The U.S. supplies NATO with 2/3 of NATO's total defense expenditures.

Think post WW2.
* China conquers Tibet. China uses military force to acquire border lands in India & Bhutan. China “owns” the whole of the South China Sea, so they think.
* Putin's thing, return Russia post Soviet glory by illegally re- acquiring lands of the former Soviet Union.
It seems as if land appropriation is the commonthread of the Chinese & Russian dictatorships.

A lot of people say that Russia is becoming a vassal state under China, but think of it this way, Chinese suspicions dominate Russia. Russia has not signed into China's Belt & Road Initiative as have +150 other countries elsewhere. Russia does not recognize China's claims to the whole of the South China Sea. Putin is not stupid to encourage Xi's grand redesign of the Russian- Chinese border.
A few years ago China claimed it is a "near- Arctic State".. whatever legal basis China claims is a stretch of imagination, but just realize the cost in savings as anything shipped Arctic is 30 days vs the Suez Canal 45 days. That is a huge Chinese advantage for it's international trade.
It would be interesting to pick Putin's brain about China.

Contrary to Russia & China, the United States did/ does not acquire, I should say appropriate any conquered lands. Instead the U.S. invested in the re- building of Europe and Japan.. later S.Korea. The closest U.S. controlled territory to the S.China Sea is Guam +2500 nautical miles distance.
The "Freedom of Navigation" enforces open seas for any sovereign nation's ships to go anywhere without hindrance. The U.S.'s Navy ships go where they damn well are pleased to go. Seems as if China is the only nation bitching about it.
