Humble question, Brad, having taken a peek at the source code of the post I am responding to, I still cannot figure out how to make only a part of a thread URL address show up.

I tried: subject-XXXXX

But it didn't work.

Suggestion, please?

Thanks in advance,

Svejk

Thanks. Now I'm trying to figure out the significance that algorithm. -g-

Originally, when I would read some posts from a subject-marked thread, but not finish all of the posts, my Message Manager would still show the remaining messages as "unread". Now, even if I read only one post from a subject-marked thread, the Message Manager shows no unread messages for that thread.

Brad,

As usual... thanks for your hard work! I was one of the people who requested the refresh date on the MM page. I love having it there!

Thanks too for the T-shirts.. they arrived the other day and are wonderfully colorful. My wife is a little disappointed that she can't fit in one, even tho it is extra large... she is very pregnant right now (GRIN)!!!!

Thanks a bunch. The best site in the world.

Mitch

Here's a fresh one for you, Brad. Just in time for the weekend!

How about an extra radio button on the respond form to reformat text with Hard Returns to Soft Returns? You would leave alone any double occurrences of Hard Returns, which would signify a new paragraph, but convert any single occurrence of Hard Return to a space (in order to keep adjacent words from running together). The benefit: cut & pasted text will wrap into uniform paragraphs. Currently, it must be done manually or running it through a word processor macro that accomplishes the same thing. This would be particularly useful since more and more web sites (ahem) are putting navigation bars on the left side of the screen, making copy/paste difficult. Not that we would copy anything that we shouldn't.....

Obviously, we would NOT want that radio button to work if Fixed Font is selected!

Brad, a new idea: Put Subject and People bookmarks into two forms-based "SELECT" lists on every displayed page.

This will save an extra "hit" to the bookmarks page to find a subject and let people navigate directly from anywhere to anywhere.

As a followup to my prior post, I also suggest changing the standard footing to: View Subjectmarks, Bookmark this subject, Remove Bookmark.

This lets us maintain the bookmark without visiting our "bookmarks" page.

Dear Brad, Jeff & Jill - just wanna drop in to say what a wonderful job y'all been doing. I cannot speak for others, but I think many feel the same way, but I think sometimes I [as a SI subscriber] have taken things so much for granted that I did not realized the various improvements have come with hardworks and dedications.

Normally, I inhabit my tiny corner of SI. Today, I venture out and notice this thread, so this is a good place to express my appreciations

Please keep up with the great efforts. Thx

rgds Bosco

Brad, thanks for the continuing refinements that make the worlds greatest site even greater.

Couple suggestions for improving the portfolio page;
-Along with last trade, include bid, ask, and tick.
-In the symbol box, include an asteric that will appear to indicate new news released that day.

For space, the "remove" box could be deleted and be part of the "edit" screen.

Portfolio...

Brad:

Thanks for the portfolio and quotes enhancement...

Would it be possible to have the ticker symbol blink when there is news within the last 24 hours...

My response #reply-3567666 :

I think you will find that the referenced pages are now defaulting to your browser's default background color. Is it the same color as you browser's bookmarks page? If so, you can change your default background color in Netscape by going to Options|General|Preferences|Colors and modifying your default background color.
