It’s ridiculous to arrange a trial and conviction for Trump, but as DC resident I can say he did incite an insurrection and curfew in DC. This caused even his own VP to turn his back on Trump. A smooth transition of power in 2021 would for sure remove all trials now and make a path for smooth Presidency for him now. As it stands this is his major roadblock, not the made up felony.

America is a fucked up country. OJ Simpson gets acquitted for murder of his ex wife which is clear to everyone, so he gets put in prison long term on another charge. Trump gets away with the real inciting an insurrection but gets charged with a bogus felony to prevent him from running again. It’s not ok for a President to send an angry mob with torches and pitchforks on Congress which is doing its job of transitioning power. It was crystal clear to everyone in DC metro Trump did that.
