I wonder if any will say, "We really didn't mean for this to happen" about 18 months from now.
This is what mystifies me about the latest ruling.

Every Supreme Court justice cares the most about his or her legacy. Yes, even Clarence Thomas cares more about that than his all-expense paid trips or his frequent flier miles.

After all, that's what the lifetime appointments are supposed to encourage, namely legacy-building over politics.

Yet here we are, with the so-called "conservative" justices giving the MOST "liberal" (notice the quotes) interpretation of presidential immunity that I could ever imagine. Instead of upholding our sacred system of checks and balances, they destroyed it because, you know, Trump supposedly can't get shit done without PooTin-like powers.

Conservatives are supposed to be about limited government. What they just ruled for is the opposite.
