James...I am getting the feeling that there is more of a chance of Barrick walking than not. This is mainly based on comments such as the ones you posted from other members of the management team. They seem to be getting this word out now perhaps in an attempt to soften the initial reaction of the market. My gut tells me the market will react negatively. How long it will take for the price to bounce back will be determined by how the management team handles the situation. This is the type of situation this team was assembled for. If the price of silver makes another run, Barrick may rethink this deposit.

The phrase "win-win situation" has been used a lot regarding this situation. I believe it is true. I also believe we are better off with Barrick walking, especially if they do it sooner rather than waiting until 2000. That is my biggest worry right now, that Barrick will just sit on this property until 2000 with the hope that the price of gold will go up. They really don't have to do anything to keep the property until then.

I hope Quinn and other are right about fireworks in March.

Best of Luck,

Ross

James: Samantha's comments seem to be premised on the fact that she thinks Barrick is going to walk away from PFG shortly. Was that the implication you got? Or was she simply answering what would happen if Barrick left (without her having any knowledge one way or the other)? If Barrick did leave in a few months, there would be 'fireworks', but perhaps not the positive fireworks we were anticipating. Maybe Quinn has some thoughts on your posting.
