Regarding the 94th Convention & Exposition of the United Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Association.

Time: February 21-23, 1998
Location: Dallas Convention Center

Acording to the registration packet I have received, there will be over 50 workshops as part of the Continuing Education Program. They seem to be grouped in ten areas of interest, one being Safety & Quality. Within this grouping is a workshop titled "Irradiation: Prospects and Limitations" The description of the workshop is as follows:

"Could irradiated produce, properly packaged, be the wave of the future? Is this a technology that can cure the industry's bacterial blues? The fact is, irradiation may be the solution to some pathogen problems, but it probably isn't the magic bullet some advocates have claimed. In this session, the best irradiation gurus in the county tell you from A to Z about irradiation's pluses and minuses."

A note I received from the UFF&VA stated that the workshop was tentatively scheduled for Sunday, Feb 22 and that Bill would be on the panel and speak about the Ozone solution.

Anyone wishing to attend can call UFF&VA at (703) 836-3410. Non-member cost for the day is a whooping $275.
