wouldn't the NDA have been cancelled too?

Definitely not. The whole point of doing an NDA is to share information that must not become public *even if* the relationship sours.

Craig,

<<<Cal's answer was to the effect that the MKII had been re-architected to work around the original problem. (Which really didn't originate with Ancor's switch anyway.) He also said that there were no interoperability problems now, and that Sequent had been interested in some of their previous high port count products. (I think that was how he worded it.) He also said that he couldn't say any more due to NDA.>>>

I think Cal said quite a bit in his response. Reading between the lines, Sequent is interested in their 64 ports capability, especially in large enterprise computing setups, eliminating cascading multiple switches, degrading performance. This is probably going to be available soon in MKII instead of the old product line?, I hope.

<<<You could be right that they are still under NDA from the old contract, but if the old contract was cancelled, and there was no longer any relationship, wouldn't the NDA have been cancelled too?>>>

I don't believe it was under NDA from the old contract. MKII was only in a planning stage when Sequent cancelled. The old contract was gone.
