Hi Scott,

Welcome to the thread. You are certainly optimistic about the price of GTIS. Maybe I should start another pool for the closing price of GTIS Christmas 1998. I'll put you down for 18 bucks. I have a few questions for you. I thought Duke 2 was coming out this spring, and now it looks like its delayed until the fall? Do you know when they plan to release the movie (I assume next fall, along with Duke 2 for PC and console). How much upfront royalties to your company for Prey and Duke 2 were written off as "special" this last quarter and how much more will have to be paid before GTIS shareholders see a dime of revenues from the games when they are released. How many other ways is GTIS planning to repackage your current Duke product - I saw recently they are combining it with Shadow Warrior. BTW - its a real shame that you all missed the release date for Shadow Warrior - if it had come out on time, there would have been no competition for it for atleast a month. Instead, several other big games were release the same week, and I feel Shadow Warrior never received the notoriety it should have (I love the Game By the Way - its totally funny).

Thats all the questions I have for now. Oh, except, why don't you just pay the membership fee - its a trivial amount.

JV.

What exactly did you share with us?

1. Our products to be distributed by GTIS are going to be giant hits.

2. You believe you know more about the prospects of GTIS' other games.

3. You are confident in your investment in GTIS and think the stock will go up.

IMHO:

1. The world is not lacking in company execs who think their products will be the next hits. I grant you your past successes, but they by no means assure future success in what has become a very difficult industry.

2. Sharing your enthusiasm for the future GTIS products of which you have "inside" information does the investor limited good, with you unable to give any specifics. How about encouraging GTIS to share some of this good news with us?

3. I am glad you find GTIS a good investment. I reserve my judgment of the stock until I see better evidence of a bright future.

Scott,

One more question. When 3dRealms pre-sells a game like Shadow Warrior (I got my copy directly from your company for 34.95) - does GTIS get a smaller percentage of profit from the sale, or do they get the same amount as they would if they sold it at Walmart?

Scott,

<<I head the company that developed Duke Nukem 3D, which most of you know GTIS published.>>

WOW!! I thought that the only resident computer gaming industry bigshot was our own Jim Fisher! Move over, Jimbo, here comes the muscle behind Duke Nukem 3D!!

<<GTIS will also publish Duke Nukem Forever, coming within a year (hopefully! -- game development is by no means a predictable endeavor) and Prey, two games we and they expect to be giant hits.>>

Kewl, more stuff = more revenues...hopefully...but, What have you done for me lately?? A lot can happen in a year, trust me on that one. <gg>

<<I've joined with a temporary 2-week membership (I have no intention of paying to have it continued...>>

Since you are the self-proclaimed head of the company that developed Duke Nukem 3D, I would think that you might be able to run the reasonable membership fee for SI through your generous expense account. Check with your corporation's accountant, as I am sure that you could write it off on your taxes as a legitimate business expense. ;) (That's free advice, and it don't come no cheaper!!) After all, consider it....ummm...cheap PR for your company if nothing else.

<<...to try to clear up much of the rampant misinformation I've seen run through here over the past few months.>>

Perhaps a press release addressing this "misinformation" might have behooved both your firm, GTIS, and all of the shareholders alike since you have commented that this has occurred over 'the past few months'. To knowingly allow "misinformation" to be disseminated on a public forum would seem to be counter-productive to the company's goals and future business relationships. It is the company's responsibility to keep their shareholders apprised of the business in order to alleviate unwarranted concerns & negative speculation on the part of the shareholders. When folks do not know, they assume, as the mind is a terrible thing to waste. <ggg>

<<I can only post three messages a day. I've asked for a comp account, but the nice people here as SI don't think my contribution here is worth a free account, even though *I* have nothing to gain by being here--it's there paying customer (you guys and gals) that will benefit.>>

Wow, then I feel really special since I can post as many messages as I care to each day! So, that is the difference between my membership and yours. Like you, though, I have nothing to gain be being here either, but I recognize that the people at SI have worked to make this the best financial site on the web and SI's membership speaks clearly for itself. So, I am proud to be a part of the SI, and though I am a charter (nonpaying) member, I have offered and would gladly pay the membership fee at anytime.

Furthermore, we guys and gals do not necessarily benefit from anyone spamming or hyping the stocks on these boards. What we want is factual information, backed by numbers and performance. Give us the plan, tell us how it will be effected, then provide us with the results in terms of earnings and positive financial projections.

<<Perhaps a little pressure from their customers will help them see the error of their ways.>>

Brad & Jeff Dryer are not in error in expecting new members to pay a membership fee. This is their business, they have worked hard and spent their own money to get the SI where it is today. No one should expect a free ride for any reason, IMO. That is taking advantage. Professionals expect to be compensated for their services and products in all aspects of business; SI provides a service, they deserve to be compensated. Far be it from me to try to undermine the capitalistic foundation of this fine country!!

Furthermore, SI does not serve only "there [sic] paying customer" as posts on SI are available to anyone with web access for no charge. Members have the right to post on the boards and retrieve personal profile information of posters. ANYONE can lurk on the board and utilize the links and services that SI offers, as far as I am aware.

<<I will not answer private email--only messages here.>>

I answer all of my private emails. I think everyone deserves a response, and it is particularly useful when exchanging "insider" information, tee hee hee, but we simply have a difference of opinion on this, so that is fine. Next point...

<<I also know a lot about the prospects of GTIS' other games, like Unreal, plus I'm a board member of the Gathering of Developers and the Professional Gamers League.>>

I am sure your Curriculum Vitae is very impressive. Let us compare notes sometimes, as I am a member of the League of Professional Gamers who Gather and Develop Board Members. ;)

<<Of course, I will not be able to reveal any info which may be considered "inside.">>

Bummer. I was thinking that you would breach SEC regulations by posting insider information on a public forum. I am truly disappointed. SHUCKS!!

<<Jill (jill@techstocks.com) is the person to email to get me a free membership if you all think my continued input will be helpful.>>

Thanks, but I'll pass. The only time I email Jill is to tell her what a great job she and the Dryers are doing with this site, not to try to weasel a favor out of her.

<<My prediction is that GTIS will be going up this year, reaching at least the 12's, and 18 months from now over 15.>>

I hope your crystal ball is on target, as the GTIS shareholders will be oh-so-grateful given their hefty losses to date. GO TEAM!!!

<<I'm not a stock advisor, and no one should take my prediction as advice, but I can make this prediction based on the strong games I know are coming out,>>

"...as well as the five zillion options that I currently hold on GTIS..." <gggg>

<<...including our own titles. Apogee owns a lot of GTIS stock at a blended rate of $11, and I'm not worried in the least about it's current down turn.>>

WELL THEN!! If Apogee owns a lot of GTIS at an average of $11, I won't be worried either!! THANKS!!

Listen, Scott...just pay the membership fee, post as much as you like, answer questions if you are so inclined, but realize that you stand to gain as much from the board's contributions as they stand to gain from yours. No one makes many brownie points by dissing Brad & Jeff Dryer or Jill in my book. I look forward to your responses to the questions that have been asked on this thread and thank you in advance for your thoughtful replies.

Scott, you are playing the same fricking game that GT has played with investors since the IPO. What misinformation? Most of the posts I have read are opinions and observations. We take them or leave them. How about this opinion? Apogee software is a dinosaur, Duke is old news, and any movie will be a flop. DOA.

I can only guess that this thread is striking a nerve at Good Times, and you have been volunteered by Chaimowitz to smooth the waters here, or else. Serves you right for defecting to G.O.D. while still in servitude to GT. Shame! Shame!

I told you guys and gals that this was "Unreal". I thought the worst was over. Guess not.

Buddy

Scott, very bold of you to predict the stock price of a company you are so close to. How many share you holdin?
Looking at the stock price graph and the time and date of your post, I would suggest caution. I know the news was out that day, but it wouldn't be too hard to misinterpret your intentions. Just let me know when you are going to do it again so I can be ready to move on it. ; )
