I'm in Wisconsin. We'll drive to a farm and put you on a roof Washington state here. Dood, you don't even raise the shotgun when a deer is 200 yards away. We don't hunt deer with shotguns here - rifles are the norm. My longest one shot kill on a deer was 375 yards (not feet, rested on a fallen tree) as measured by my Leupold laser range finder. I use a stainless Ruger M77 Mark II in .30-06, Leupold 3-9x Vari-x II scope. I've switched to Nosler 180 gr partitions after a black bear I shot with 150gr Winchester ballistic tip didn't penetrate as needed. Shotgun hunting for deer & especially birds sucks. It's like carrying a cinder block all day Try a sling, never been a problem for me.
