Cable modems are pretty good. I use two, one for pure data and one for other stuff. I plan on getting another for my son this summer when the present ISP contract runs out. Another nice thing is uptime. Since October I have been "out" a total of less than 20 minutes. Far superior to the data feed I had on satellite, and superior to the land lines used to access the ISPs my wife and son have. The real problem is on the "other end". Usually I can fly (comparatively) through other sites but occasionally I notice SI, for instance, drags a bit. Still, it's worth dumping the ISPs I have for. ~~~~~~~~~~ EDIT One possible problem downstream may be market saturation, slowing down the response. Time will tell.
