Andy: I think FY '98 ests. are in the $3 -$4 range, off the top of my head (and w/no surprise factor). At either $3 or $4, it brings it all into a little better perspective (P/E- wise).

Hey Andy,

Your calculation of PE is off. Lucent's last 12 months earnings were $2.72 per share. At $100, that's a PE of 37. Is it justified? Hell yes. Lucent and Cisco are dominating the voice and data networks. These are two companies for your core holdings. Buy on dips and don't sell for at least 5 years. This is the sanest advice you'll ever get.
