Can we all agree now that it’s insane, in light of the Biden regime’s behavior, for a political regime to control the safety and security of its rival (especially when you consider the regime has spent years trying to imprison its opposition)? The law needs to be changed so that former presidents, as well as protectees who are currently running for office, are given funding to hire and manage their own security and safety needs. Make the appropriations as large as they need to be to replace all the previous functions managed by the Secret Service and its agency partners, and give the protectees unfettered access to the same information that agencies currently use to monitor threats and conduct background checks. This is the only way to protect candidates going forward. We simply cannot afford to have a corrupt regime and corrupt leaders like Biden, Mayorkas, and Cheatle making decisions that determine whether their rival lives or dies. The Secret Service, after its leadership and everyone involved in the failed assassination attempt against Trump are fired and charged, can continue to manage protective details for sitting officials and diplomats. But it cannot be allowed to manage security for former presidents or candidates for political office.
