Board member appointed Donner Minerals Ltd DML Shares issued 24,279,502 Feb 18 close $1.85 Thu 19 Feb 98 News Release Mr Harvey Keats reports Dr Rex Gibbons, has joined the board of directors and Mr Kerry Sparkes has been appointed exploration manager. Dr Gibbons has served as a senior geologist with the Newfoundland Department of Mines & Energy, and has been a cabinet minister with the government of Newfoundland and Labrador in the portfolios of Mines & Energy & Natural Resources. Mr Sparkes has had continuous involvement, through Archean Resources and subsequently through Inco, in the Voisey's Bay deposits starting with the first hole to the Ovoid in 1994. Dr Gibbons graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a BA and BSc in 1967, a MSc (geology) in 1969 and graduated from California Institute of Technology with a PhD (geology) in 1974. He did post-doctoral research at the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Centre in Houston, Texas, served as a senior geologist with the Newfoundland Department of Mines & Energy for 13 years and was a cabinet minister with the government of Newfoundland and Labrador from 1989 to 1997, in the portfolios of Mines & Energy and Natural Resources. He is executive vice-president for Jacques Whitford Environment and senior geoscience consultant for its affiliated company Newfoundland Geosciences Limited.
