Right. Lack of good intel marks pretty much every crisis event like this. Sometimes, like in Uvalde, it can take a criminally long time before the authorities decide they have enough information to act. You also have to factor in that any Trump loyalist with the slightest chance of doing it, would have been fighting tooth and toe nal to be on that detail . However, enthusiasm does not equal competence. And, no matter what you pretend, not everyone is equally competent. And no, that doesn't mean they are "elites" and thus, can't be trusted.
