That's a bold prediction, considering this excerpt from the conf. call:

Miles Russ: A couple of quick questions. On XL Vision, I'm just curious as sort of your strategy there. I know it's going to be sort of an incubator and you talked about one rights offering a year or a one company a year coming out of that. Do you envision XL Vision being a rights offering candidate in the future? Or is that just going to be sort of that incubation source?

Pete Musser: We plan to keep it as an incubator so that we don't have to worry about sales, earnings and those other nasty things. And so we'll run it for incubation of new companies and hopefully positive cash flow.


Would Safeguard shareholders be better off with XL Vision public? I've also heard the XL Vision CEO (at the Lasertechnics conference call last year) say they had no plans to go public themselves.
