Another point. There have been complaints IOM should lower
their prices on the Zip drives vs. heavy advertising cost, in
order to increase earnings. Get real, they have lowered their
costs on the drives, the low cost drives are out in OEM land
so that the OEM can buy a drive from IOM at say $50 or $60,
include it in their configuration at a price of about $90 and
add to their profit. That compels them to include the drives
in their configurations. Go to the Dell website and see you get
a Zip drive plus two disks for $99. And when you are looking
to build a configuration on their site you will notice that
Dell has prechecked the box for the Zip for you. You have to
take it off the list intentionally. They don't do that with
the other peripherals they offer. However, the retail channel
is still selling them at $129 or so. So you have good reason
to get it included with the OEM configuration rather than go
out and buy it yourself for a cheaper price. On the other hand,
if you are computer savy, you can go to a computer supply shop
or an online buying service and pick up a new Zip for about $85.
IOM is being very, very wise in their pricing strategy. They
are driving OEM inclusions to the max by cheap wholesale pricing
and cleaning up with profit on the externals bought retail.
That's why they can afford a $100 M advertising campaign, which
is only about 5% of incoming revenues.

Long on Intel and Iomega

By the way, don't be asking for any poison gas dumped in NY.
I have family there. If you want some gas or fatal hot air,
please wisk yourself off to Iraq, and do it quick please.

<<<I'm sure that some here are disappointed that the Feds busted two guys from Nevada who wanted to introduce biological weapons into the NY Subway System.

Knowing that I live here in NYC, and guessing correctly that indeed I do utilize the wonders of the NY Underground, people here could have relished the fact that I could have suffered a cruel, hacking, pustulant death.>>>

Rocky, whatever happens to IOM, SYQT, your money and my money, I am sure that everyone here is glad that those scumbags were caught. Speaking for myself there is nothing you could ever say that would cause me to wish any harm to you. It is only money.
