Bonefish,
Of course the MSM will pick it apart and use it against Trump.
This does have all the hallmarks of another boogeyman for the left to rail against.

In this case, however, the left's accusations seem to hold water, and Trump's disavowals seem to ring hollow.

What's good about Project 2025, however, is that it is a clear blueprint for what Heritage wants the GOP to follow. There are a lot of good ideas in it, and a lot of bad ideas, but at least it's a plan that ought to be debated on its merits.

By disavowing it, though, Trump not only confirms all of the fears of the left, but he also signals to everyone that he is averse to sound, intelligent discussion over policy.

Bottom line is that he can't run away from it. This isn't something that he can simply dismiss as yet another "RuZZian collusion" thing, nor can he drown out the discussion by shouting "wItCh hUnT wItCh hUnT wItCh hUnT!"

He and his campaign will have to address Project 2025 in detail.
