Dan & thread, I noticed this release regarding contactless smartcard technology from Philips being licensed by Hitachi. It has me wondering what the technology is comprised of. Does it work in tandem with FRAM? etc.? It also has me wondering what Hitachi's plans are. Do they plan to integrate both Philips' MIFARE with Ramtron's FRAM? etc.? The following quote from the release suggests that Philips' has its own competing smartcard memory technology."The existing comprehensive portfolio of MIFARE products satisfies demands ranging from contactless memory card ICs to sophisticated contactless microcontroller solutions."
