Bill, I was talking about a constitutional amendment.

Personally I think a Supreme Court Justice should serve a single term of 11 years. Maybe 15. (I chose an odd number because, as an engineer, I just wanted to break up any election year beat patterns.)

The trick to an amendment, of course, is that you'd need to convince a large number of "red states." They may listen to reason and figure out that the Supreme Court may not be majority conservative forever.

Or they may think about short-term politics and decide, "Nah, we feel no need to change things."
