Option expirations fall into one of three cycles; first month of the quarter, middle month, or last month. Since SIMO has active Sep and Dec expirations, we can guess that they're on the last month cycle. Normally, the two front-most months are available (Aug and Sep, in the case of SIMO), as well as the next two cycle months (Dec, Mar). The Jan's were originally LEAPS (Jan '26 is also available).

The October expiration will list once the August rolls off.

There are 3 expiration cycles:

- January, April, July, October
- February, May, August, November

- March, June, September, December

All optionable stocks offer options in the current month, the following month and at least the next two months in the cycle.

500+ stocks and 100+ ETFs offer weekly options for the next 6 weeks.

Many optionable stocks offer LEAPS (options expiring in more than one year) resulting in two subsequent January expirations.

Stocks and ETFs whose options are heavily traded may have even more expiration months.
