RE: HSY Sold my small position and expect that the 185 puts I sold will expire tomorrow. Replaced with NSRGY. Looked reasonable to me, 99 safety score, 3.37% yield which is 33% above the 5 year average. Downside--annual dividend, not quarterly.

HSY earnings definitely ugly, but I'm holding that one. Keep hoping for the commodity squeeze to ease off, but that clearly isn't the case yet. They'll just have to manage through - and it might be measured in years rather than quarters.
This clearly indicates (at least to me) that you believe that HSY is a good long term investment. I am curious about the reasoning behind this judgement. Is it primarily because of (past and future) operational performance, because of brand dominance, portfolio role, or other factors?
I am also a long time holder but to be honest I am beginning to lose faith in the firm.
