Hi Jules , seems both IBM & ATT like Olympic returns

IBM invested $140 mln in the Olympics and this week , at IBM's Business Partners Conference in SF, promised another $750 mln .

IBM's advertising expense seems justified as "you can't sell 'em if you don't tell 'em" .

IBM said it believes its Olympics site experience, which it has been building since the flame went out at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996, will translate directly to its e-business strategy.

"If we can build a site to handle 40 million to 70 million users, it's the largest website that's ever been built, in essence, the largest demo of e-business ever built," said John Chiavelli, IBM manager of Olympic Internet systems.

"We're taking data from multiple data services, combining the content, and presenting it to the user."
