Vice President Kamala Harris was confronted by hecklers at her Detroit rally on Wednesday — and she did not miss a beat, silencing the shouting quickly.

About half a dozen protestors chanted what sounded like a pro-Palestinian message, CNN reported.

"You know what, if you want Donald Trump to win, say that," said Harris. "Otherwise, I'm speaking." The crowd immediately erupted in cheers at the line.

The line is a throwback to the vice presidential debates in 2020, when Harris, confronted with former Vice President Mike Pence trying to talk over her explanation of the Democratic ticket's tax plan, said, "Mr. Vice President, I'm speaking."

It became an iconic moment from the debate, resonating with women who shared experiences struggling to be heard over men who didn't value their opinion. "I'm speaking" even found its way onto merchandise.

Prior to Harris taking over as Democratic nominee, President Joe Biden also faced a number of hecklers and demonstrators at his events, mostly driven by anger against the United States' position with Israel amid the brutal war ravaging Gaza.

At one of his later rallies of the campaign also held in Detroit, Biden engaged with one such protester, telling the crowd as they tried to drown her out, "Folks, look. I understand her passion. I understand her passion. That's why I put together a detailed plan that the United Nations accepted, that the Israelis accepted, that the Palestinians accepted, to end this war."
