Re: this is a short-term portfolio until the additional assets are available and the need (as a percentage of assets) is reduced. That is exactly what I have been trying to get across. Not only will SS kick in, but no more college expenses, a move from one state to another that should generate a lower standard of living, and an eventual inheritance. All that is needed is that bridge between now and then. Then it's simply a matter of making adjustments as you go along.
