Good catch! For us it is $1600 per semester (per student), but even that might be preferable if we were buying our own insurance on the exchanges.

My son's college did have that feature, though he has now graduated. It was actually pretty expensive and we found it cheaper to keep him on ours, especially since I could deduct ours from my self employment income.

Oddly enough, my daughter's college does not require or offer health insurance. I guess they are all different.

Son is planning to move out of state soon, so he should be off of ours by the end of the year. I may consult with a broker about other options but last time I did, the options for small businesses were still considerably more expensive.
