I think the activity and news lately is pretty upbeat..

AMAT is going with 300mm now and were getting reports about more equiptment orders etc.. (I still expect a sell-off before we move to new highs for Cymer, Amat etc..)

I think Cymer was just protecting itself with the preferred shares etc.. I think as the manufactures become more confident in DUV laser and see how much potential Cymer has in the future... Cymer wanted to avoid letting the company go without taking some planning into hand.

The current market value of Cymer is approx. $21 x 30 million shares or $630,000,000. Looking at their annual sales and projected growth I don't think I would be to happy with a take-over right now. I'd guess they get something around current value give or take a couple of hundred million. I think the best bet is to let Cymer grow and keep the shares down :-)

Micron slipped today and that's my key indicator for the rest of the companies like Cymer and AMAT. The news today lifted AMAT a little.

Everything looks pretty good overall I think...

P.S. I just picked up a Pentium 200mmx chip for the house for $149.99!

So, we don't *want* a takeover?
