vladimir--

with their relationship with TI, i would anticipate them being able to undercut most of the competition. i do not know who netspeed is using for their chips, but WSTL is a more mature company with some excellent manufacturing partners, while netspeed is an unknown quantity. the way things are in austin, i would assume that their cost structure just based on overhead is more than WSTLs.

as for the cable modems, its a different market. while the modems may be comparitively cheaper than an xDSL modem, it is also a more mature technology. as xDSL matures, the prices will decline significantly. in addition, while you might be able to pick up a cable modem cheap at best buy, it may not work with your cable system. depolyment of DSL is going to be easier than deployment of data over coax, IMHO.

good luck to all,
trey
