Sister Sledge??? Not to be confused with Twisted Sister, or Swing Out Sister for that matter. You guys are too young for me. I haven't done a web search on one of these things for a while, so here you go (from izan.simplenet.com, first of 1000? hits at altavista). We are family by Sister Sledge 1979 - Unedited version from the album We Are Family, 1/24/79; edit issued as Cotillion single #44251, 4/17/1979). This great song was Top Pop Charts # 2 and op R&B Charts #1 ! ! We are Family was written by Rodgers & Edwards after they had met the Sledges for the first time. On CD The Best of Sister Sledge (1973-1985) (Rhino Records Inc., 1992). In that era, as now, I followed pop music about as closely as baseball , which is to say hardly.
