Jeff: Re: averages ...

Come on, Mr. Mathematician ....

What happened to the Mean and the Standard Deviation?

That one day of 130,000 shares upped the average a bit.

Chartists would also point out moving averages, and those really funky Bolinger bands. Yeah, so what if they're supposed to be used for pricing situations?

Maybe tech's average (off by 18.6%) was figured by omitting the high and the low. Double exponential smoothing, with a cherry on top.

What ever happened to rational discussion of companies and their underlying stocks?

So, what do you think of the Bronco's chances to repeat next year?

Sure is a pretty day.

For your information Mr. Mitchell, I checked the volume total from my
chart (which I have not updated with today's number yet)

Therefore, the start date on my chart is not 1/21/98, but 1/20/98

that is where the difference is.

Furthermore, I did say the last 21 day periods. You usually
don't count the day you are looking back from.

30,399 or (with today's volume) 26,847

both of those are still way higher than the b.s. 5,000 figure you used.

I rest my case.
