Jimbo, <<Now Scott Miller gets dissed for suggesting GTIs will come back. It seems this thread doesn't like industry folks saying their mind...>> Nope, sorry dear. Speak your mind, industry folks!! I love to be privvy to the workings on the inside, don't we all? However, I didn't diss Scott because of his opinion that GTIS will come back, so please reread my post to him. I was saying in perhaps a roundabout way that I found portions of his post to be in poor taste. IMO, his message was somewhat instigatory and insulting to this thread. Specifically, his comment regarding "...the rampant misinformation" on the thread is a criticism of our opinions and debate, both of which are the reason for the existence of these boards as I understand it. Perhaps no antagonism was intended by Scott, but if that is the case, we might have stumbled upon another reason why GTIS is having some problems lately...I don't know, but could it be that their partners and associates are a bit on the arrogant side? Are they lacking in the finesse necessary to win shareholders' loyalty and instead incite their defense mechanisms? The comment about the SI membership fees and the Dryers' policies was also in poor taste, and lead me to wonder why the "head" of a company would complain about having to pay a fee to join SI like everyone else...like HIS SHAREHOLDERS DO...his air of superiority in indicating that he should be comped only drives home the belief that many "heads" of companies view themselves on a different level than the rest of the world, and are out-of-touch with the "common folk" - those investors who put their faith and their hard-earned greenbacks in the hands of said company executives. Furthermore, it is very poor manners to sit at the dinner table and insult the meal prepared by the host! In other words, why come to this thread, to the SI, then say, "I have no intention of paying...blah blah blah"? This is not how to win friends and influence people. (HEY!! That sounds like a snappy book title! I oughtta go with that, man! ) AND ANOTHER THING, <ggggg> why not answer private emails? NON-members of SI might have questions that they would like answered, but they are not able to post on the thread. Should these people's input/requests be ignored? Maybe they cannot genuinely afford the SI membership fee, given their substantial losses in the stock! <ggg> What about those who for professional reasons or personal ones, simply do not want to ask questions publicly? Maybe they post under their real names, and it would be unethical or a conflict of interest for them to make themselves known on this particular thread? Why couldn't all of these questions be inventoried and posted by Scott on this thread with his answers? Most importantly, Jimbo, I was not intending to be mean in my post to Scott, just wanted to express my opinion, as he did. We are all entitled to that much, aren't we? If anyone has found my post to be offensive, I do apologize, but I believe my points were valid. That they were expressed in a sarcastic sort of flaming is simply my writing style. There's no harm in a little banter back and forth, as you and BOB have demonstrated in the past on this very thread! Scott may be the the nicest guy in the world, and the biggest asset to GTIS for all I know, but you never get a second chance to make a first impression. I'm simply pointing out that you generally get more with sugar than you do with vinegar. (I've been in the south too long!! I'm going to start saying, "Y'all" pretty soon!) Oh, and you ended with the comment regarding <<...major-league dissing...>> Huh? Major league?? Well, I will take that as a compliment, having come from one of the masters. ;) So, relax...sit in the spa...shaken not stirred...you know the drill. I'm outta here! xoxo, V.
