CIEN -- Jan -- They sell to the mega-fiber guys like Qwest, Williams, WCOM, and AT&T. WCOM is by far their largest customer and has said they want shipments closer to the time they'll be put in the ground, thus the pullback. A friend who follows all these fiber companies closely explained it's a timing problem, not a cancellation. The big threat is LU who announced I believe in January they had a similar product. Will T award contract to CIEN or LU? Or, perhaps, both? Hard to say. The next two quarters look grim according to CIEN's CEO. You now know as much as I do. :) Pat
