Could you send these guys a repair manual, just in case they don't have a copy? Thanks.

"poor forest stewardship makes fires worse"

You sound like a graduate of Rakedaforest U.

I recall playing ball in the street.

Kind of like building along the sea shore. Guess what happens in a hurricane? More damage! Hurricane activity has not increased ( it ebbs and flows just like the Temp) but when we get one there is more damage

No, poor forest stewardship makes fires worse.

The Indians used to set managed burns before the pale faces ever showed up

Building homes in forests make the damages much higher.

Build on a fault and you'll eventually get an earthquake. Build next to the ocean or on a flood plain and you'll eventually get washed away. Build in the woods and you'll eventually get burned out.

When I was in Grade School, they taught us about the Tillamook Burn in the Oregon Coast Range almost 100 years ago that scorched 350,000 acres.

Big forest fires are nothing new..

Speaking of burns, the Burning Man Festival is getting rain soaked for the second year in a row. Thousands of Burners are praying for global warming to dry up the Black Rock Desert so they can get to partying.. :-)
