More RAM never hurts. She is only 12 do you really need that much? Mine is a 12 gen i7, 64 GB RAM, Nvida GPU.

I didn't recall what drives have a problem with data loss, its 13 14 gen units. Seen something on it.

If she is 12 you don't really need to spend that mush money. I expect mine will last 6 years if I am still around.

Amazon is not the best place to buy computers, there are local stores that can beat Amazon in prices. Just have to shop around.

Laptop buying.

Interesting. I looked at the Amazon URL a few times, and once the price had dropped from $1070 to $999, so I bought it.

Good = Intel i7, SSD = 1TB, RAM = 32GB, graphics card = 4060.
So so = screen = 15.4"

That's a pretty good configuration for $999.

Reading online it said i7 with 32GB is probably a better choice than i9 with 16GB. The reason was that most games / apps today don't take advantage of i9's processing improvements over i7, and going forward apps may want 32GB rather than 16Gb.

Anyways that's done. Thanks for your help!
