SMCI - I've never researched or followed it, but in all that smoke, chances are there's a fire. In any case, it's not trading in the 1200 range. Lots of folks have long thought a sell was appropriate.

The few times I've shorted something (not counting options), I haven't been silent, though my hollering was limited to this obscure little website (back when there were active individual stock forums), and some comments on SA and Yahoo that were quickly swept up in a torrent of other noise. But always with a reason why I thought that XYZ was a POS.

I did skim through that Hindenburg piece this morning. Lots of rationale. But I'm not in a position to verify the comments from ex-salespeople. All I can do is look for tells in the footnotes of SEC filings.

Do a deep dive on MinScribe a disk drive manufacturer in the 80's

Now that was 'cooking the books'. I actually drove by their warehouse back then to gauge how many drive they were shipping out of their loading dock. This was in Silicon Valley, Ca (specifically Santa Clara).
