PD,

You are correct in your assessment of the YAHOO chat board. Seems like it is prevalent in a number boards on YAHOO. A lot of shouting and very little substance. But......

Let me remind you and most others. Rumors usually have some truth to them. I am not saying that this one does but I won't entirely discard it either. As I have said before, CRUS has some very good fundamentals and a low stock price. They have a lot of cash and seem to be on a roll in regards to earnings, new products, low inventories and finally the on shore fabs (Micrus and Lucent) are paying off.

Since I do have some connections at CRUS (if I didn't scare them away), I'll put my feelers out. By the way, when I reported way back in October about the potential buy out of the graphics group by S3, this was based on the fact that a number of S3 employees were actually visiting and signing in the visitors log. They were fairly inept back then and I see no reason to believe that they wouldn't be now.

I will keep everyone posted.

Calvin Scott

My take on that take over rumor is simple. Since he just said that it can happen on Friday, it only require us to wait for one or two days. No big deal!

Let's just think about it. If there is really a takeover, and the thing has already leaked on Internet, what will the management do? They will announce it as soon as possible.

What if there is no takeover? The management has to come out and tell everyone there is no takeover. In any event I think we can have the picture cleared pretty quick.

BTW, I believe that 99% of takeover "rumors" are not true.

It's always tough to judge how much truth there is to rumours posted here or on Yahoo. Certainly some honest and informed people may post on Yahoo. Ever since Silicon Investor has been charging money for registration (to be able to post messages), we've seen less "insiders" show up itching to get the word out. They might do that on Yahoo instead. (Of course, SI's move to charge money was reasonable and out of necessity, but it may put some people off. Of course that may be mostly a good thing considering the relative civility of SI compared to Yahoo threads. I would probably not be posting here today though if I hadn't signed up when registration was still free.)
