<Or is that what AMD does now and Intel only used to do? >

Actually, I think the only thing "AMD does now" is lose money. They are very experienced at it and have elevated it to an art form. Of course this concept is completely foreign to Intel.

BTW, what ever happened to your gloom and doom predictions for Q4? You know.... drastically falling margins, dumping products below costs, missing earnings estimates, etc. etc.???

>> "Give them performance at a low cost. Isn't
that how we get to billions of connected
computers? "

You must be a Democrat!
INTEL's first objective is to MAKE MONEY.

In response to your of admiration for AMD,
please consider this: they have a higher unit
cost structure than INTEL, yet they charge
less. Their margins are so thin they are
unprofitable 4 out of the last 6 quarters.
Without profitability, they do not have
capital to build the large fab plants to
achieve economies of scale that will lower
their cost structure. Exactly what part of
their business model do you admire so much?
Oh .... I forgot Democrats don't care about
business models and profitability.

Let me make another bet. You have NEVER owned
a profitable business in your life.
