Ali,

"...any indexed mutual funds did MUCH better this year ['97]".

You are right about '97, but for most of us who are here for the long run that 580% return investing in Intel in such a few short years is certainly very enviable to any mutual fund managers.

John.

Ali - Re: "In MY time frame Intel is a clear loser -"

Thank you for taking the time to remind us all of your uncanny ability to buy bad investments and ignore really good ones.

So you think Intel's run up to $90 will now end, eh?

Well, Ali - do you feel lucky? Short it! Show us what a financial genius you really are - come on - short Intel.

After all, the terrible yield problems Intel is suffering, their cancellation of analysts meetings, repeated quarterly losses, etc., all point to big time trouble ahead.

Re: "Intel in 80 with cheap stock options? Share please your
excitment with us,.."

Why don't you ask me very nicely and politely and perhaps I will tell you how much the stock has appreciated.

Then again, all you have to do is look up the price of Intel's stock in 1980 to 1990 and divide that into $90 9/16 and VOILA - you'd have your answer!

Don't forget - do the same with AMD's stock - I suggest 1984 would be a good starting point.

You might come up with a 59% DROP in AMD from $48 in 1984 to the paltry $19.50 of today.

But then, AMD has so much more potential, doesn't it now?
