Yes Douglas, I'm in the FC business, consulting, technology and marketing training, and involved in the T11 (FC) standards process. I've only been involved for 18 months, but FC has become my professional passion.

By way of introduction, I'm an engineer, started two successful companies (and two other learning experiences) and was CEO of one of them for 16 years. I got involved with the microprocessor in 1972 and realized then that it would revolutionize electronics...started Pro-Log Corporation with Matt Biewer. We made the first single board microcomputer in March of 1973 using Intel's 4004! We also made PROM programmers controlled by microprocessors. Pro-Log was recently bought by Motorola.

I ran across Fibre Channel, somewhat by accident, in 1996. Its enormous potential was immediately clear to me: I think its comparable to that of the microprocessor. I'm trying to contribute to having FC reach that potential, without having to start another company. FC still has big hurdles to jump... the technology is the easy part, the primary issues are related to business decisions, strategic financial commitments, and a focus on solving customers' needs.
