Kal,

That is a really good article! It points out a lot of the problems that both the 'giants' and 'little guys' have in managing! I like it especially when he wrote about MS Money, noting that it was a flop regardless of all of the hype! I agree with him when he said that the users like the MS software that integrates smoothly with the operating system. ( Like they would know the difference! )

Where I see the problem is that when the little guy gets his product to market, and it is a really good product, then MS comes along with a few little (although 'bloated') improvements! The little guy counters with more improvements, and back and forth it goes. With MS's deep pockets, it is possible for MS to release advancements faster to the market, and eventually the little guy can't keep up! It ain't so easy for MS either! The landscape is littered with 'burned out' MS employees! Seems 5 years is about all some can take, but they leave with lots of $$$$$!

I did buy Linux and will load it to see if all of the functionality that I need is there, or am I supposed to write a 'load' of software before it works properly! I'll see!

Regards,

Ken
