From Dimension 3D Forum >>Below is a copy of a post from Scott Sellers of 3dfx (taken from the Below is a copy of a post from Scott Sellers of 3dfx (taken from the 3dfx newsgroup) with his comments on the situation: Dear 3Dfx supporters: Recently, reports have surfaced on several Web pages and newsgroups about problems with 3Dfx's Voodoo2 product. In particular, reports have cited problems with the 3Dfx Voodoo2 reference board. Suffice is to say that we were completely surprised by these reports, as over the last several months we have performed extensive chip and board-level testing and believe the product to be extremely robust. In addition to literally thousands of hours of actual real-world use and extended tests, we also have subjected our Voodoo2 reference design to an extensive set of environmental tests (artificially heating and cooling the boards, as well as running them across a wide range of voltages) which simulate conditions much harsher than those found inside a PC box. Throughout these tests, we have found Voodoo2, as with all our products, to be rock-solid reliable. 3Dfx takes quality issues extremely seriously, and we are taking every action necessary and possible to work with our OEM partners to ensure a quality and robust product. Fortunately, consumers will be able to see the fruits of our and our partners' hard work in a very short time with the introduction if Voodoo2 boards on retail shelves. We are confident consumers will find the performance, quality, reliability, and robustness of the Voodoo2 product to be outstanding. Thank you for your support, and Take a Ride with Voodoo2! I wonder if DIMD's oven is running hotter than the thermostat is set for (just kidding)? One thing DIMD is doing right is they are embrassing the I740. DIMD sure missed the boat on kflex when they could have done better sucking up to USRX/COMS on the 56k issue.
