Not sure, it's hard to figure out what exactly is going on with merchant controller makers and the NAND makers.

SIMO says they have SSD design wins at all but one NAND maker, but we don't know if that means one win for 1,000 units, or 15 wins for an expected 5 million units.

I'm sure SIMO sells some SSD controllers to WDC.

SIMO says the NAND makers are outsourcing more and more units each year, so that's good. How the split goes between SIMO and Phison is unknown to me, I don't even know what the SSD controller sales revenue comparison is between SIMO and Phison. SIMO said they were 4x Phison's size in controllers, but that was perhaps 4-5 years ago. I don't have any up to date numbers. Since Phison sells both controllers and module (which include NAND) it's hard to figure out the size of their standalone controller business.
