Peter Lynch emphasized that he did extensive DD on his investments before making them, even though the original ideas may have come from trips to the mall, etc. SI can be a good source of ideas leading not to investment, but to further investigation. After the investment is made, a very active thread can be a good place to keep tabs on a company's current events. Varying opinions about a company's news by others following the stock can be useful.

<< How about a host of other sources like a company prospectus/company web site, zacks, value line or other investing/company material which many libraries have, brokerage houses, newspapers(biz section), magazines and journals, talking to the company's IR and, even Trading programs (ie charts and the like). >>

Hmmmm!? Have you ever visited Henry's web site and read his posts? Have you noticed the sources of his information, or the information posted by other "informative" people on this thread? Investors quote from 10Q's, IR, Zacks, etc, all of the time. Where have you been!?

The forums at SI provide a wealth of information and analysis. I find it remarkable that you can't see the value of SI as an investment tool!
