Stonehenge-Re: "What would intc be worth as a takeover candidate?" Are you planning on making an offer? gg

BTW-here is some news that seems surprising in view of the recent market performance. From Briefing.com

09:22 ET Equity Market Outflows: According to AMG Data Services, mutual funds experienced their first net outflow of cash of 1998. For the week ended Wednesday, $430 mln came out of mutual funds vs inflows of $2.59 bln the week before. Appears that a lot of that money is being shifted into money-market funds and bond funds."

Good Morning Stonehenge: In the event of such as scenario, I would expect the bidding to begin in the $120 range at the very least.

Whilst it may still appear quite unlikely at this time. Were one of the majors to make a play for Intel, it could lead to a major bidding war of some intensity, where the stakes could be raised very significantly, as in the case of Hilton vs Starwood.

We'll just have to wait and see. It may never happen, but then again it could. About eighteen months ago, I did a piece on the prospects for a balanced budget by 1998.

At the time, that possibility appeared extremely remote, especially as lawmakers were still debating 2002 as date zero. I said it then and I'll say it again: Never, say never!

Btw, is there a particularly intriguing explanation on why you chose 'Stonehenge' as your moniker such as for its mystical connotations?

Regards
