Great input! A dictator on another forum banned me because of I post I made on this forum. That is an example of where the moderator needs to be moderated but...we won't start that conversation now. He or she's rules were no republicans and I had posted over there a few times so I was guilty.

GZ can be a bit rambuncious at times, but like Trump I think he can control himself and be responsible. I have nothing personal against GZ, however, I witnessed the exchange between him and HB first hand. I very seriously doubt HB would want him as moderator and she also asked FJB to do it. GZ claims they were friends and had a reconciliation. I saw zero evidence of that. I come here because of the content posted and there are 3 or 4 individuals who post the majority of real content as opposed to opinions or comments (like me). I want to honor HB's wishes.

The moderator should be the person that the democrat boards least want. I much prefer someone rambunctious rather than docile in this position. HB was a fighter, rambunctious herself but that's what's needed. Her board was protected and strong because of it. God bless her! I think it would be great to bring back this board with some resemblance to what it once was.

Good points. The moderator will need to have the temperament -- and patience -- to suffer through a lot of sh*tposters and respond, not just exercise the ultimate sanction. Otherwise, it's potentially just censorship, not moderation. Another excellent forum I belong to has a longstanding unofficial but well-understood policy of public warnings, and even then temporary (e.g. 7-day or 30-day) "timeouts" before permanent bans. By the time somebody reaches the end of the rope, everybody knows why.
